When I was a little girl living in Canada our school started after Labor Day. This was always the holiday where we could spend the day in the kitchen helping my mom can peaches + getting everything ready that we needed for school. Since moving to the States I have not been able to carry on this Labor Day tradition since school begins in August. So instead we are using our Labor Day to work in the yard, spend lots of time playing, and enjoying some delicious food (smoked pork, anyone? Yum!)
Here is a free printable September calendar for you to jot in all of your fun September activities. I’ve already printed one out for myself – I’m thinking apple-picking for some homemade applesauce, doing some fun fall leaf crafts with my younger kids, and making some cranberry apple crisp – one of my favorite desserts! I’m making sure to write them all in my calendar to make sure I don’t get too busy and let the opportunities pass by.
