basil pesto pasta

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/23 cups basil leaves, gently packed
  • 3/4 cup fresh Parmesan cheese
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup pinenuts, toasted
  • 1/23/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • kosher salt (1/4 teaspoon to start)
  • fresh cracked pepper
  • pasta, cooked and drained

Instructions

  1. place everything but olive oil in a food processor. give it a few pulses to get things going.
  2. slowly pour in olive oil while the food processor is running until you get a smooth consistency.
  3. mix in with your cooked, drained pasta. let sit a few minutes so the sauce can absorb into the pasta.
  4. optional: serve with chopped tomatoes, cooked chicken, and extra basil.

Notes

they say to toast the pine nuts, but i forgot to. it still turned out great!
