- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 16 oz cottage cheese
- 1 egg
- oven ready lasagna noodles (or use regular lasagna noodles and boil as per directed on the package)
- mozzarella cheese, grated
Instructions
- in a large skillet, brown the ground beef. add marinara sauce and stir to combine. set aside.
- combine the cottage cheese and egg and stir to incorporate the egg. set aside.
- in a 9″x13″ baking dish (aluminum, if you plan on freezing it) layer the following ::
- cup of meat sauce
- lasagna noodles
- half of remaining meat sauce
- lasagna noodles
- cottage cheese and egg mixture
- lasagna noodles
- remaining meat sauce
- shredded mozzarella cheese
- bake in a 350 degree oven for 40-45 minutes, or until cheese is golden and bubbly. let rest for 5-10 minutes for perfectly cut squares.
- freezer instructions ::
- prepare as directed, but do not bake. cover with foil and place it in the freezer.
- place in the fridge, to thaw, the night before you plan on eating it. bake as per regular instructions
- OR
- if the lasagna is frozen, turn up the heat to 375 degrees and bake for 1.5 hours, or until heated through.
