- for the salad:
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, torn
- 1 package
frozen peas (about 2 cups) - 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2–4 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
- 1 red onion, chopped
- for the dressing:
- 2 cups mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 8 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
Instructions
- in a trifle bowl or rectangular casserole dish, layer salad ingredients in the order listed.
- in a small bowl, combine and gently spread the mayonnaise and sugar and spread over the salad. sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese and bacon bits. refrigerate for at least an hour (preferably longer) before serving.
