it’s about time :: free printable clock for kids

learning to tell time is a great thing for kids to know – it’s all about numbers and categorizing. but beyond that, it’s something that will help your child be able to stick to a schedule and become more independent. if his school starts at 8:00 am, for example, he won’t need to solely depend on you to tell him when he needs to get out the door – he’ll have a better awareness of time and can be more responsible about getting himself to where he needs to be…on time.

i made this printable clock to help teach my own kids how to tell time. i’ll be using it as part of an activity i’m posting later this week, but did want to point out that instead of putting “60” minutes, i opted to put a “double zero” instead – i thought it might be easier to show how to write out the time (like 5:00).

i also made sure to make the small arrow’s (hours) color correlate with the hour numbers, and longer arrow’s (minutes) color correspond with the minute numbers, just to help it make a little more sense while he’s getting used to it.

and you know what? he’s really starting to get the hang of it! yay!!
